So it is official:
She is engaged. I wish her well. In this journey called marriage. It takes patience and compromise. Is she really ready to compromise? Spend the rest of her life trusting some one else's judgement or opinion on how she should live her life?
I know her very well.
She has a beautiful heart, wants the best marriage any single young woman would dream off.
She waited for close to 3 decades for this day, now it is in her face and she is scared pant less( excuse my french).
She told me about her fears:
1. Her world practically revolves around her man. In as much as she wants him to do his own things, she always wants to be around him and he thinks she is choking him with love.
2. HE told her that she makes decisions spontaneously without consulting him, it is bringing a wedge between them.Though they love each other but she said she is used to being that way. She can change, she needs to try.
3. She had a nasty past relationship and she has become very paranoid. Any slight argument between the two of them, the next thing that comes to her mind is: BREAK UP!
4. She is just scared. She looked forward to getting married all her adult life, now that it is staring her in the face, she is SCARED!

Someone once told me even marriage is faith, that it will all work out regardless of the intricasies. She needs to remember that the path of a believer is all worked out by God, and as long as she has handed this all over to God, she no longer needs to carry this burden called fear. oh and by the way - tell her, that she needs to start reading the books of a praying wife, get counselling and all the books by all the award winning authors on marriage. Because this one he thinks she is choking him with love, she needs to be able to choke him with love, and he still knows he can still breathe and like the choking..lol.
